Hi all, I just thought I'd let you guy's know about a game I've farely recently come across called Nation States.

www.nationstates.net

in which you take control of your own vertual nation and make all of the governmental decitions. Also as part of the game you have the option of creating your own region so that you can have a selected group of people all playing in the same area. I have recently created a region in the game and am currently looking for participents to come and join the "NORTH EAST TOILET BOWL" which, for some reason, I decided to call my new region. lol.

As the game creater himself puts it, "NationStates is a nation simulation game. You create your own country, fashioned after your own ideals, and care for its people. Either that or you deliberately torture them. It's really up to you.". So if any of this sounds interesting to anybody here then give it a go and remember, "NORTH EAST TOILET BOWL" is waiting for you.

i should just add that this game really doesn't demand a great deal of your time at all. it really is worth a go. i don't guarantee you'll like it but it certainly can throw up some funny little things. plus it is a good way of getting you to think about responses to things and the knock on consequences of the decisions that you take. remember, for anybody who is interested you can move your nation into the "NORTH EAST TOILET BOWL" too. anybody is welcome.

go on, give it a go. it's free so what have you got to lose?

Actually Araceli I must confess that since I originally posted this topic to the boards I have left the (North East Toilet Bowl) for pastures new.

lol. I've done nation states but when I go to confirm my acceptance of a position on an issue, the accept link to confirm that decision goes away. I was wondering, where it went? lol

I'm not sure what you mean Cala. You click accept on an issue and once you have done that it takes the accept link away but of course, you've already clicked it so don't need it again! lol. It leaves the other accept links in place though in case you change your mind on an issue and wish to change your decision.

Hope that helps? Dan.

but how do you confirm it? I mean, it says click the link to accept this issue, but, um, I find no link. so, after you click accept, what do you do to confirm that position.

Well I just started playing. who knows how I'll go as I know nothing about politics so this should prove extremely interesting Lol but dan, i can't find your region. you sure it's the correct spelling and all?

Read post 5 in this topic Rachel. That's where I, and indeed a lot of Zoner's, are these days.

OK apologies! :)

Once you click the link, you don't have to confirm that you've accepted that position on the issue. You just have to wait until your issues recycle, then it gives you a new issue and inacts whatever decision you made on the previous issue.
